MILPITAS YOUTH SOCCER LEAGUE FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

HOW DO I REGISTER MY CHILD?
The easiest way is to attend one of our scheduled registration events listed in the Fall/Spring Flyer. Complete the registration form; provide a 1”x1” photo (U14 and above); provide proof of age – birth certificate, passport, Green Card.

CAN I REGISTER BY MAIL?
Yes, go to our web site
www.eteamz.com/milpitasyouthsoccer, download the registration form
and the Fall/Spring flyer. The flyer lists the fees for all age groups. If you need a uniform please
add $30.00. Uniforms can be used for multiple years, if you already have one there’s no need to
purchase a new one. Complete the registration form; be sure to sign it at the bottom. Send the
registration form and payment (check made out to MYSL) to our mailing address: MYSL, 88 S.
Park Victoria Bl. #135, Milpitas, CA 95035. You can also drop off the registration form and
payment to this address (Sommer Printing) marking the envelope MYSL #135.

FRIEND / TEAM REQUEST
If you have a specific request for your child to play with a friend; a coach; or a team you can make it on the 3rd line of the registration form.

DO I HAVE TO LIVE IN MILPITAS?
No, the league is primarily setup for Milpitas residents but we do accept players from surrounding communities.

UNIFORMS
Uniforms are currently $30 for a jersey, shorts, and socks. If you have already purchased a uniform you do not have to purchase a new one each year.

HOW DO I BECOME A COACH?
On your child’s registration form, check the “Coach” box in the Parental Support section on the right.

WHATS THE PRACTICE SCHEDULE & LOCATION?
Teams usually practice twice a week in the early evening, usually lasting 1-1 1⁄2 hours. The practice schedule and location will be set up by the team coach after teams are setup.

WHEN WILL PRACTICE START?
Your child’s coach will provide you with the practice schedule and location after teams are setup: Fall soccer – mid-August; Spring soccer – mid-March

WHAT ELSE WILL I HAVE TO BUY?
You will need to buy soccer shoes (cleats) and shin guards.

WHAT TIME ARE GAMES?
Games take place on Saturday, usually between 9 AM and 1 PM

WHEN WILL I HEAR FROM SOMEONE?
You will hear from the team coach after registration is complete and teams have been setup and coaches assigned, the coach will contact you.

AGE GROUPS
Players must play in the appropriate age group based on their birth year. The parent can request that they play UP one group (older team) but they cannot play in a lower age group.

HOW CAN I BECOME A REFEREE?
To become a licensed United States Soccer Federation (USSF) entry level, grade 8 referee, you must complete a 9-hour class and successfully pass the required test

HOW CAN I CONTACT THE LEAGUE?
To contact the league send an e-mail to MilpitasYouthSoccer@gmail.com. E-mails are usually answered within 24 hours during soccer season.
